SJ Council Vote: Protect and Expand Renter Rights

  • San Jose City Hall 200 East Santa Clara Street San Jose, CA, 95113 United States (map)

On 12/11, San Jose City Council will be voting on important tenant protections, including:

Stopping landlords from discriminating against
Tenants just because they have a Section 8
Voucher or some other subsidy. Right now,
Landlords can discriminate against tenants just
Because they have Section 8 voucher.

A law that would give tenants in duplexes the same rights as all tenants in San Jose to be free from unlawful discrimination and be protected from conversions to other use by including Duplexes in the Tenant Protection Ordinance and the Ellis Act Ordinance;

Other protections that would help
Tenants who are domestic violence
Survivors & tenants who are
accused of criminal activity

TAKE ACTION NOW:

1) Come to City Council on 12/11 at San Jose City Hall at 1:30 and ask the City Council to pass law protecting tenants.

2) E-mail or call City Council and tell them you want them to support the above by e-mailing: cityclerk@sanjoseca.gov
