Temple Emanu-El high school student, Elyssa, is concerned about e-waste from the U.S. poisoning the environment and killing people - including children - in poor countries around the world. At the PACT Community Action Meeting she asked everyone to help through policies and actions to recycle responsibly and stop unfairly burdening her generation with major environmental problems.

In Spring 2009, PACT held 3 community action meetings with 1500 community members. School board trustees, the Mayor, City Councilmembers, and County Supervisors committed to supporting excellent new schools to close the achievement gap and reduce the dropout rate in East San Jose.
In Aug 2009, PACT held a press conference with Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren as part of PICO's "No Recess for Health Reform" National Day of Action. Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and community members shared their painful stories of how the broken health system is failing their families and our community.
PACT asks San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed for his leadership to: improve neighborhood safety; stop preventable foreclosures; create excellent schools to close the achievement gap and reduce the dropout rate; and create green collar jobs for youth.

In Feb 2008, PACT held a Community Action Meeting at the San Jose Unitarian Universalist Church to secure Mayor Reed's commitment to make San Jose's Green Vision inclusive of all residents, regardless of income level.
