In order to further PACT’s campaign to create excellent, new schools of choice within failing public schools districts, PACT launched the ACE Public School Network in June 2004.

The ACE Public School Network(www.acepublic.org) is a new, non-profit organization that incubates, supports, and provides start-up resources for excellent new public schools of choice. Together, PACT and the ACE Public School Network seek to transform public education in the Valley, so that all children, particularly low-income children and children of color, have access to a first-class public school. The three excellent new schools of choice that opened in Alum Rock Union Elementary School District September 2004 are:

Renaissance Academy, an exceptional middle school focused on arts, science, and social justice. Serving 110 6th grade student during the 2004-2005 school year; 230 students projected by 2006)
L.U.C.H.A. (Learning in an Urban Community with High Achievement), a K-5 school emphasizing high achievement and community partnerships. Serving 120 students (40 kinder, 40 1st, 40 3rd) during the 2004-2005 school year; 240 students projected by 2006.
Adelante Dual Language Academy, a dual immersion Spanish/English K-8 school for English and Spanish learners. The school aims to have students be high academic achievers, while mastering a second language. Serving 60 (40 kinder & 20 1st) students during the 2004-2005 school year; 380 students projected by 2012.
