Thousands of people in San Jose are losing their homes to foreclosures.  This is devastating families and whole neighborhoods.  It's bringing everyone's property value down, which is a huge part of the state and local budget crisis.
 
The federal government gave billions of dollars to banks to modify these bad loans so that people can afford their mortgages and keep their homes.  Many banks took the government bailout - our taxpayer money - but they're not modifying loans. 

Bank of America has the worst record - they hold about a million of these bad loans around the country and right here in our community, and they are refusing to modify them.

MHT PACT, together with organizations around the country, is launching a faith community divestment campaign to pressure BofA to do the right thing.  We are encouraging people to take their money out of BofA until they change.  The goal is to get Bank of America to play by the rules and be part of the solution to rebuild the economy.
